We offer a silk weaving experience in our facilities that are housed in the old Johana Silk Weavers Association’s administration building that was constructed in 1928 (free entry). The brick and wood structure is a pseudo-western style architectural building that is characteristic of the time period; it has also be registered as one of the Tangible Cultural Properties of Japan. Our silk weaving experience is easy to participate in, even for complete beginners who have never used a machine to weave before. After your weaving experience, feel free to check out the shopping area, gallery, and café housed in our facility. In our shopping area you can buy expertly weaved original silk goods made by our staff.
