国指定重要文化財 羽馬家住宅

The Haba Residence

This carefully preserved house exemplifies the old Gassho-zukuri construction style from the early Edo period. The adjacent Komyoji Temple houses a stone monument of the history of the impoverished farmers from Kanazawa who were banished to this village along the Shogawa river during the reign of the Kaga clan. The title lettering was done by Katsu Kaishu, a famous officer from the late Edo period.
