真宗大谷派 城端別院善徳寺

Johana Bestuin Zentokuji Temple

We are a Temple that belongs to the Otani Sect of Sinshu Pure Land Buddhism that was founded and built 500 years ago by the 8th leader of the Hongan Temple, Rennyo. The temple was under the protection of the Kaga (modern Kanazawa) feudal lords, and was blessed as one of the most prominent temples in the region to this day. Additionally, because the temple has avoided burning down since it moved here 450 years ago, the gate, main building, large drum building, and the temple bell tower have all been made prefectural cultural properties. Moreover, Zentokuji Temple houses a number of cultural artifacts that have been here since the Kaga feudalship.
